Step 8
Made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.
Step eight is another preparation step. It asks us to examine the harms that we have been responsible for in the past, so that we can begin the process of repairing the damage that we’ve done. This is where we begin living like a new person. We are going to stop hiding the things that we did wrong and attempt to make them right. That may mean paying back financial losses, seeking forgiveness, fixing damages, even accepting legal consequences if we need to.
This step begins the process of coming clean by making a list and identifying the specific damages that we were responsible for. Then we need to prepare ourselves with the courage and fortitude to face the deserved results of our prior actions. This preparation time allows us to build the strength to face the overdue consequences for what we have done.
NOTE: Please be careful not to confuse harms done to you with the harm you inflicted on others. You are only responsible for your own choices… not for abuse that others did to you.
